This product is indicated for patients with mild or moderate diabetes mellitus who are dissatisfied with the curative effect of 2- 3 months of alimentary control and physical exercise. Such diabetics have pancreatic islets with certain insulin-producing function, no acute complication (such as infection, trauma, ketoacidosis and hyperosmotic nonketonic coma, etc.) as well as no combined pregnancy and severe chronic complications.

The product can be independently used by those suffering type 2 diabetes mellitus who fail to effectively control hyperglycemia by diet control and exercise, also applicable for those who fail to effectively control hyperglycemia by using metformin. It can be used in combination with metformin, while cannot replace it. The product is not applicable for those suffering type 2 diabetes mellitus and having little effectiveness by using sulfonylureas hypoglycemic drugs.
